Turn Your Podcast Into a Book: Guest Post from Lynn at Write For You, Part 2

Of course, I wasn’t going to leave you hanging or make you wait for the rest of Lynn’s advice 😉 If you haven’t read Part 1 yet where she gives you the first 5 steps to turn all that content from your podcast into a book, you can read that here.

Post below from Lynn "Elikqitie" Smargis from Write For You:

Turn Your Podcast Into a Book: Guest Post from Lynn at Write For You, Part 1

I’ve noticed a trend recently on the consulting calls I’ve been doing where podcasters who are past the beginning stages of starting a podcast have now hit their strides and then question, “Now what?”

The answer I generally give is in the form of another question or two, “Well, what is it you want to do with your podcast? What did you want when you started it and is that goal the same?”

5 Things To Include in Your Podcast Intro & Outro (and 1 Thing You SHOULDN'T)

So you’re ready to start your podcast but … oh, what do you say?! Well, you know generally what you’re going to say. You have ideas for your episodes, but what do you say to get started? And how should you end the podcast?

Listen to a handful of podcasts, especially from different genres, and you’ll find a multitude of different ways to start a show. None of the suggestions below are set in stone, and people are coming in all the time to change how “things have always been done,” and that’s awesome. But for those just starting out and need just a little bit of guidance, here are what I look for in a podcast intro and outro.

What Should You Podcast About?

What Should You Podcast About?

Is this you? Do you want to get behind the microphone, but aren't sure what kind of podcast you want to have?

Do you even need a topic, or can you get behind the microphone and start a podcast about "anything and everything"? The reason I put that in quotes is because plenty of podcasts use that phrase to describe themselves. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, either. I listen to plenty of comedy podcasts that use that exact phrase.

But I will recommend if you're thinking of using a podcast to boost your brand or business, maybe the "anything and everything" route isn't for you.
