I haven’t written a blog post or article or even an episode script of a podcast in more than a year. It’s weirdly scary, even though I write every single day. It’s in my nature. If I go a day without writing, I feel like I can’t process everything that’s going on.
Anyone remember LiveJournal?
I think, of all social media and platforms that have come and gone, that one may have been one of the healthiest for me. I got it my Freshman year of college and used it pretty much throughout. I go back from time to time to read old entries, actually.
I was convinced I was going to grow up to be a writer who slept late and spent all day holed up writing. I probably had some pre-cottagecore fantasy of me in cozy blankets and socks with a steaming cup of coffee and headed to one of my vintage typewriters I was just quirky enough to use as my tool of choice.
This is still a fantasy I think I convince myself is possible whenever a rainy Sunday happens, but with 2 kids, a husband and a busy and unpredictable schedule, that kind of experience needed to be scaled down — for now, at least.
So, consider this a first of hopefully many entries that will hopefully entertain you and, if nothing else, let you know there are other creative quirky folks out there — if you’re one of us, glad to have you! 🙂
Oh! And, yeah, I know about SEO and photos and all that stuff, but for now, I’m only going to concentrate on the writing and save the graphics, branding, and marketing for another day. Forgive this blog as it slowly takes shape!
